BELGIAN STUDY CIRCLE
LIBRARY
Several conventions have been observed in this list:-
1) Where possible, all works have been listed by author(s) and by subject. The entry listed by Author in bold is the main entry. Other entries are duplicated to ease searches.
2) The sign > indicates "refer to......"
3) Sadly some works are unattributed and many undated. Where this information is missing, the omission may not be mine.
4) I have not indicated the language any work is written in as this is normally self-explanatory from the title. I have however attempted a rough translation of some titles where I have considered that this might be helpful.
5) Certain foreign language terms have been used where they are generally accepted by collectors of that country as in Departements Conquis for Conquered Departments
6) I have taken the liberty of adding articles on specialised subjects where a magazine or club publication is devoted mostly or entirely to that subject, or if the article is particularly important. My selection is by definition somewhat subjective; please let me have your suggestions.
7) The letter "A" in brackets (A) indicates that the item is an article.
8) I have done my best to be correct with the spelling of names, particularly where capitals are used for prepositions "de" and "van". Any errors are entirely my own, and I would be grateful to hear of any necessary corrections.
9) I have tried to list the contents of the Library in a logical manner in a way that is easy to use. I have listed several works in a number of places to try to make the list as comprehensive as possible. Again, please let me have your comments. Please feel free to contact me should you need any help finding information.
I believe that this is as good a "specialist" library as any collector in this country can have access too, and we should consider ourselves lucky in having received so many works. However, there are still many missing works, and any additions to the Library will be gratefully received.
All inconsistencies and errors other than source errors are purely my own. Please let me know if you find any errors.
1) Publications will normally be lent for a period of six weeks. Extensions will usually be acceptable, so long as there is no waiting list.
2) There is no charge for borrowing, but outward and return postage are at the borrower's cost. Current Postage Stamps to the value of outward postage are acceptable.
3) The BSC reserves the right to send rare or expensive books by recorded or registered post
4) It may be possible to supply photocopies of a small number of pages, at cost, if they are needed for genuine study purposes.
5) The Library is available for consultation by appointment.
6) I am always happy to discuss library matters on the telephone or by e-mail.
