Roeslaere to Zurich 31 July 1928. Airmail letter with manuscript endorsement
“Par Avion Bruxelles – Bale – Zurich” and “PAR AVION” handstamp plus a boxed
“PAR AVION/PER VLIEGTUIG”. There is a Basel airport transit mark? Also a
Swiss express label was applied receiving a Zurich airport cancellation at
some stage. Franked with “Houyoux” COB 205 1 franc and 257 1,75 franc the
reason for the express label is not clear as 1,75 franc was the correct
foreign letter rate but the airmail fee should have been a multiple of 0,35
franc and the express fee was 3,50 franc. The letter has a Zurich Telegraph cancellation on the reverse as a receiving mark. |
